The United Arab Emirates, represented by the Ministry of Interior, discussed means to enhance cooperation, coordination and exchange of information in the fight against drugs with the Indonesian national police’s delegation, on behalf of the Republic of Indonesia.

For this end, a meeting was held at Union Hall at the Ministry’s headquarters.  Colonel Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Federal Anti-narcotics Directorate at the Ministry of Interior met Armand DePari, Director General of the Anti-Narcotics Department at the Indonesian National Police, and the accompanying delegation, on a two-day visit to the country.

The delegation was briefed on the Ministry of Interior’s efforts in the fight against drugs. It also reviewed the report on international cooperation and exchange of information with all anti-drug agencies in various countries around the world.

During the meeting, the two parties stressed the importance of greater exchange of information and promoting immediate and round-the-clock cooperation in the fight against drugs.

The meeting was attended, on behalf of the Ministry of Interior, by Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Acting Director General of the Federal Anti-Narcotics General Directorate; Colonel Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department at Abu Dhabi Police; and Lt. Ahmed Abdul Aziz, Acting Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department in Sharjah; and members of the Indonesian delegation.
