A delegation from the Ministry of Interior took part in the 19th World Conference on E-passport Public Key Directory (PKD) held recently in Paris.
Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Acting Director General of Electronics and Telecommunications Services at the Ministry of Interior, stressed that this participation is in pursuance of the police leadership’s efforts to promote the exchange of Public Key Infrastructure and digital certificates, with a view to strengthening security and prevention efforts.
For his part, Lt. Colonel Khalid Nasr Al Tai'e, Head of the Electronic Auditing and Information Security and Head of the delegation noted that the semi-annual conference for digital certificates, aims to establish the general frameworks, policies and regulations to manage the exchange of Public Key Infrastructure and digital certificates between ICAO Member States that are required to issue e-passports. “The conference is also an opportunity to exchange experience and know-how between Member States, under the supervision of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO),” added Lt. Colonel Al Tai'e.
During the two-day conference, the attendees reviewed and discussed a number of work papers and topics of mutual interest to the Member States.
The delegation included: Major Eng. Hassan Muthanna Al Harbi, Chief of the Electronic Auditing and Information Security Section; and Captain Saeed Mohammed Al Shibli; from the General Directorate of Electronics and Telecommunications Services at the Ministry of Interior.
