Under the patronage of His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the Ministry of Interior will host, in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the 2011 Gulf States Global Police Symposium at the Intercontinental Hotel and Resort in Abu Dhabi on 4-7 December.
Themed ‘A Safer World Through International Police Cooperation’ the conference will bring together some of the most influential law enforcement officials from across the globe, and will provide a forum for officials to exchange knowledge, share experiences and provide insights regarding the types of co-operation required to best meet law enforcement objectives.
Brigadier Commodore Ali Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Abu Dhabi Police Air Wing Commander and Chairman of the Symposium Committee underscored the importance of boosting international police cooperation and coordination among law enforcement organizations to face transnational crimes, noting that the conference can be seen as significant step in this regard.
Among the topics to be discussed at the Symposium will be law enforcement global cooperation, professional diplomacy, law enforcement exchange programs and community policing. Also to be discussed will be transnational crisis management and the challenges facing security strategies including the implications of social media, cyber crime, human trafficking and money laundering.
