Officers from the Traffic Departments at the State level were acquainted with the smart traffic systems, serious traffic accidents investigating mechanisms, traffic control, customer service, traffic engineering and ceremonies and functions. The applied program was held recently at the Traffic and Patrols Department in Abu Dhabi Police.

Colonel Khamis Ishaq Mohammad, Deputy Director of Traffic and Patrols in Abu Dhabi Police indicated that the applied program is organized as part of the first basics traffic course held at the Officers Institute at the Police College. During the  course, the officers were briefed on the different traffic systems and radars used by the Department, as well as on the new light signals systems installed on intersections  and will be operational  in the coming days.

“Through the applied program, officers were acquainted with the smart traffic systems center project that the Directorate already began implementing, and which is expected to become operational this year. This would mainly improve the existing traffic management and traffic safety systems”, added Colonel Mohammad.

Furthermore, the officers were introduced to the various tasks carried out by the investigation patrols to arrest offenders through civil patrols, so as to enhance compliance with traffic laws. They were also introduced to the efforts exerted by the Public Relations Department to promote traffic culture in society
