Flames brought under control at a furniture showroom in Abu Dhabi
Police teams managed to contain fire erupted in one of furniture showrooms on Airport Road in Abu Dhabi. No casualties were reported.
The Rapid Reaction of ADP Department of Emergency and Public Safety and Civil Defence Teams wre able to bring flames under control and to prevent them from extending to the near stores.
According to 1st Lt. Abdullah Hamad al Tameemi, Head of Customer Service and Public relations at Abu Dhabi Civil Defence General Directorate, when the Operations Room was informed about the fire in one of furniture showrooms in Abu Dhabi, the Rapid Reaction and Civil defence Teams rushed to the scene and doused the flames within forty minutes. The cooling operation continued for half an hour. Traffic patrols participated in rescue operations by organizing traffic flow. Teams from Crime Scene, Criminal Investigations and Security media Patrols also participated in the events.
Al Tameemi said "All contents of the showroom are flammable, but the quick reaction of Civil defence and rapid reaction Teams controlled the situation very quickly".
