Emirate Rescue Team inspects coastal areas of Al Fujairah

 

MoI closed Al Fujairah Corniche on Friday as a precautionary action to prevent individuals from going to it in order to avoid any risks that may result due Cyclone Phet which had hit Omani coasts. Captain Raid Al Miheiri, Leader of the Emirates Rescue Team said “The sea water has flooded Sharam Area in small quantities due to high waves on Friday afternoon”.

“The Team has inspected Kalba, Sharam, Al Bidayah, Dhidina, and Daba Areas to reassure citizens and residents about the safety of the situation. He affirmed that the Team is highly prepared for any emergent situation. The Team task is precautionary. It is quite natural to increase precautionary measures in such circumstances for any serious developments due to the Cyclone”, added Al Miheiri.

The Rescue Team consists of 57 persons. It is provided with ambulance, rescue, rapid reaction equipment and apparatuses. There also a joint operations room in addition to coordination with the Directorate general of Al Fujairah Police and other relevant authorities.
