Capital Police Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police emphasized its readiness to serve the public during Eid al-Fitr holidays, as part of the “Your safety” campaign, launched by the Police Operations Department, in collaboration with the Security Media Department in the Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, adding that it has formed groups to help and serve visitors to parks, the Corniche and commercial centers.

Brigadier Maktoum Al Sharifi, Director of Capital Police Directorate, called on the various Police stations affiliated with the Directorate, to take the necessary preventive and security measures during the Eid al-Fitr festivities, by enhancing police patrols presences at all locations frequented by the public for entertainment. He also emphasized the Directorate’s attention to enhance communication with the public, by deploying security and promoting social and human role, based on the strategy of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters.

 In addition, Al Sharifi urged parents to prevent their children from using or buying fireworks, and reporting any store selling them, noting that clampdown campaigns have been launched against such stores.

He said that the fireworks are highly flammable, and may possibly start fires that threaten the lives and properties of individuals.

Concluding, Al Sharifi reaffirmed the Directorate’s continuous campaign to combat the scourge of begging, adding that competent patrols have been deployed around prayer yards and mosques in collaboration with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments.
