With the support of the Rapid Intervention at the Emergency and Public Safety Department of Abu Dhabi Police Central Operations, 3 teams from Al Ain Civil defense managed to put out a fire that broke out on Friday morning at a building in the industrial city in Al Ain, without causing any casualties

Lt. Colonel Rashid Mohammed Hamar Ain Al Darmaki, Director of Al Ain Civil Defense Department stated that the Operations Rooms received a report at around 11:30 AM about a huge fire that started in a building at the industrial city, burning a number of commercial shops and carpentry workshops without causing any injuries or loss of life.

Lt. Colonel Al Darmaki noted that the firefighting teams managed to control the fire within 4 hours, using water and foam; due to the presence of timber and flammable materials in the shops. He also pointed out that the fire brigade initially focused on the ground floor in order to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to the upper floors. The teams also carried out a cooling process to prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby areas, while investigation is still underway to determine the circumstances of the incident.

Al Darmaki called on shop owners in the industrial cities to to comply with security and public safety precautions, in order to prevent fire hazards.  He also noted that the campaign led by the Al Ain Civil Defense contributed in raising the awareness of shop keepers on the basics of proper storage, and acquainted them with means of prevention and safety.
