The Emergency and Public Safety, Abu Dhabi Police conducted recently two drills to put out a fire and stop leakage of hazardous materials at the Emirates Steel Factory at Musaffah industrial area.
The drills have been conducted to enhance the efficiency of police personnel.
Captain Abdullah Ali Al Sagheeri, head of emergency training branch, Abu Dhabi Police, also leader of the two drills said: the two drills began with A tip off received by operation room reporting a fire at the Factory. Security and ambulance vehicle patrols, and civil defense unit have been immediately deployed to the scene. They started prompt dealing with the fire and ensured that the place has entirely evacuated.
After extinguishing the fire, a hazardous materials unit has been deployed from Mohammed bin Zayed police station to handle a leak of hazardous materials at the factory, he added.
Al Sagheeri stressed the importance of the field protective experiences in enhancing the competence of police personnel and other support anti-incidents and emergency situations agencies and controlling them in a short time, thereby ensuring the safety of people and public and private property, and minimizing human and physical losses.
