Abu Dhabi Police to Conduct Evacuation Drill at Khalidiyah Mall

Abu Dhabi Police, Khalidiyah Police Station will conduct the day after tomorrow a practical emergency evacuation drill at the Khalidiyah Shopping Mall in Abu Dhabi.

Lt. Colonel Ibrahim Al Hanai, Head of the Khalidiyah Police Station explained that the drill comes as part of the training plans at the Capital Police Directorate with aim of enhancing the readiness and the capabilities of the police personnel to deal with emergency security situations, and to increase professionalism.

He added that the drill scenario includes an evacuation simulating a potential fire at the Mall. Teams from many departments will take part in the drill, including Traffic and Patrols, CID, Emergency and Safety, Civil Defence, Forensic Evidence, Crime Scene, Community Police, Special Tasks, Air Wing, Security Information, Security Media and the Mobile Operations Room.

He called on the Mall’s visitors to cooperate with the police personnel during the drill and follow their instructions. This will allow the public to be more aware of the procedures carried out in such situations which will make the drill a success.
