The Air Wing Department at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters rescued and transferred an infant, a young Emirati and three European tourists in three separate traffic and health incidents that took place in the Western Region, Abu Dhabi.
The Operations Room received a first report about a critical health case, requiring the transfer of a two years old baby girl from Delma Island Hospital to Khalifa Hospital. The infant was involved in a traffic accident with her family at the Western Region, resulting in a pelvic fracture and a number of bruises. The medical team provided her with the required medical care throughout the air trip.
In the second incident, the Air Wing department was called on to transfer a 16 years old Emirati, who had suffered a number of fractures when his car crashed on the Hamim Bridge. The Air Ambulance took off immediately to the accident site, where the medical team provided the injured with the necessary medical care before transferring him to Al Mafraq Hospital for further medical treatment.
In another separate incident, the Air Wing Department carried out a third rescue mission, and managed to locate 3 European tourists whose vehicle got trapped in the sand dunes near Asab in Liwa, at the Western Region. The Operations room received a report about 3 tourists trapped in the desert, 5 hours after they had left the hotel on a desert safari. As soon as the call was received, the Ambulance Aircraft took off, coordinates were established and three minutes later, the Air Wing Aircraft was able to locate the trapped tourists and transfer them to Madinat Zayed Hospital at the Western Region to undergo the necessary medical tests.
