The Medical Services Department at the Abu Dhabi Police urges its personnel to quit smoking in order to safeguard their health from smoking’s ill effects. The Department calls on its personnel to take advantage of the educational programs that aim to fight this epidemic.
Earlier, the Medical Services Department carried out an educational campaign on the dangers of smoking for employees at the departments of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters.
Brigadier Salem Saleh Al Junaibi, Director of Medical Services Department, said that the educational program included several topics addressing the different diseases caused by smoking and aimed to raise health education levels among police personnel regarding the dangers of smoking and its negative impact on health.
“The cessation clinic to help people quit smoking at the Medical Services Department was able to convince 50 smokers out of 150 among police personnel who visited it, to quit. The clinic aims to provide health awareness to the police staff and help them to give up smoking,” he continued.
Brigadier Al Junaibi called on Abu Dhabi Police personnel to cooperate with the clinic to avail of the programs and services it provides, in order to save their health. He confirmed that the clinic has all the necessary capabilities to provide aid to individuals.
Major Dr. Tareq Al Junaibi, Head of the Health Education Division, assured that health services to provide Abu Dhabi Police personnel with health awareness programs are continuing. He pointed out that the division has given away educational brochures and organized lectures and seminars at the departments of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters to combat smoking.
