During a recent visit to Portugal, a delegation from the Central Operations General Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police got acquainted with a number of modern and developed systems in the field of emergency medical services, civil protection, rescue, education and training.

Saqr Nasser el-Raisi, UAE Ambassador to Portugal met the delegation and instructed the embassy employees to facilitate its mission and to provide it with the necessary logistic services.

The delegation also met during the visit the Secretary of State for Health, the Head of the National Institute For Emergency services in charge of providing and managing services, the Director General of Civil Protection, the President of Volunteer services in Portugal as well as the President of Technicians and Nurses Association.    

Lt. Col. Mohamed Ibrahim al-Amiri, Head of Emergency and Public Safety Department at the Central Operations General Directorate and president of the delegation stated that the visit comes in line with the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy to keep up with the developments and stay up-to-date with the latest news in police and security work. He pointed out that the delegation was acquainted during this visit with the urgent relief medical services system, public safety and rescue systems, volunteers management systems and their relation with public services and hospitals; ways to enhance services, education and training systems; field operations management, attraction and appointment methods, all in the purpose of benefiting from the European expertise in this field.
