The Abu Dhabi General Headquarters, represented by General Directorate for Security and Ports, attended the International Academy for Forensic Medicine and the Arab Association for Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, which was recently held in Turkey.

Doctor Salem Said Al Talih Al Zohouri from the Office of Forensic Medicine for the Abu Dhabi Police delivered a lecture titled: “Vision for forensic dentistry in the Arab world." He reviewed the obstacles that face this profession and the best ways to manage and resolve them.

The lecture included forensic dental specialties, including the identification of victims through their teeth, the analysis of biting effects, the age estimation, the dental law in criminal cases, and malpractices. It also addressed the relationship between the forensic dental specialty and other professions that deal with criminal cases.

The Abu Dhabi Police participation in the conference aims to brief the Arab society on the latest developments of forensic dentistry and the global plan to activate this field in the Arab countries.

The lecture received the interest of the attendees who have requested to hold such a conference again in order to benefit the Middle East’s development process, especially given that the Arab region is in need for this specialty.

The lecture, "Vision in forensic dentistry in the Arab world," delivered by Doctor Salem Said Al Talih Al Zohouri was published in the official magazine of the International Academy for Forensic Medicine.
