The Quality Department of the Strategy and Performance Development General Department at the Secretariat General of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior organized, on Monday, a symposium about rehabilitation of Police College to acquire the ISO 2008:9001 certification.
The symposium, held at the Al Ittihad Hall at the Police College, was attended by Lt. Colonel Dr. Saeed Matar Al Saridi, Director of Quality Department in Ministry of Interior. Al Saridi gave a detailed explanation about quality concept, which requires a number of correct procedures to satisfy clients and accomplish their direct and indirect requirements, in addition to their future expectations.
He pointed out that this symposium comes in line with the rehabilitation project of the various departments of the Ministry of Interior to obtain the ISO 2008: 9001 certification. He presented an overview of the Quality Department systems and benefits of implementing them. He also discussed the project stages and roles of the Executive leaders in addition to the tasks of the quality and consultancy teams.
Moreover, Al Saridi mentioned the requirements needed to implement the project and determine responsibilities and authorities; he discussed the work mechanism of the quality teams with the audience, and touched on the coordination of efforts with the Quality Department, at the Secretariat General of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
The symposium was also attended by Colonel Ali Abdullah Al Shamsi, Acting Director General of Police College, departments’ directors, heads of divisions from the Police College and Officers Training Institute, as well as Colonel Mohammed Ali Al Dallal, Quality Representative at the Police College, in addition to the College’s quality team.
