The Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the Western Region Traffic section, dedicated 40 patrols to ensure a smooth traffic flow during the Al Dhafra Mazayina Camel Festival. The Festival, celebrating its sixth edition for 2012, is organized by the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority Western Region, from 15 December, 2012 - 29 December, 2012, at the Madinat Zayed in the Western Region.

Major Suhail Al Mazroui, Head of the Western Region Traffic section at Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate, indicated that participating in the festival is essentially part of the traffic awareness efforts, to educate road users on the need to abide by the rules of public safety, speed limits, and traffic laws.

Al Mazroui pointed out that the Traffic and Patrols Directorate has intensified its awareness efforts, in addition to its services and traffic facilities, to ensure safety for all participants and visitors to the region.

Moreover, he emphasized the keenness to develop mechanisms to communicate with the public, and promote traffic safety awareness among motorists.

He added: “Mechanical and electrical mobile workshops have been equipped with skilled staff to provide assistance and repair emergency malfunctions that may occur to vehicles”.

Al Mazroui called on drivers to respect traffic laws and regulations; to adhere to designated speed limits; and to ensure the readiness of their vehicles and their tires.
