As many as three million, 481 thousand and 752 passengers  and two million, 22 thousands and 557  vehicles have crossed the Al Ghwaifat border exit check point in the past year, 2011, according to statistics shown by passports section at the border exit check point.

Of those crossing the border point, 1.744.576 persons were departing, 1.737.077 persons were arriving, noted Major Rashid Hamdan Al Naqbi, Deputy Head of the Al Ghwaifat Security police station.
 
He said that the movement of arrivals and departures through the check point has increased during summer months namely in July, August and September. The number of passengers and vehicles during this period were 1.629.974 629 and 560199 respectively.

The number of pilgrims who crossed through border exit check point was 20100 of all nationalities, he added.

He noted that the Abu Dhabi Police and the concerned agencies at the crossing point have offered, during the last year, many humanitarian, logistical and organizational services for travelers, especially during Hajj, Umrah of Ramadan and during the summer holidays.

All the units at the crossing point managed to carry out all vehicles and passengers travel- related procedures in record times, he said, adding that all entry procedures have been provided in an easy manner for the participants in the Al Dhafra Camel Festival and other camel contests and festivals held in the country, most notably the Dubai Shopping Festival, stressing keenness of Abu Dhabi Police to provide the best and finest services to its customers.
