The 13th Abu Dhabi Police Road Race Championship started today on the Abu Dhabi Corniche. The championship, which is organized by the Sports Clubs and Activities Department at the Strategy and Performance Development Department, included the participation of Major General Staff Obeid Al Hiri Salim Al Kutbi, Deputy Commander-in-chief of Abu Dhabi Police, Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, a number of heads of departments, and 200 Abu Dhabi Police personnel. The race aims to increase the capabilities of police personnel and revitalize their spirit of communication and competition.
The six km race started opposite the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the Abu Dhabi Corniche and extended to the Abu Dhabi Sailing & Yacht Club.
Government Establishments & Diplomatic Missions Protection Department came first with 46 points; the Western Region Police Directorate placed second with 112, while the Guards and Special Tasks Department came in third with 125 points.
Major General Staff Al Kutbi, accompanied by Major General Al Menhali, distributed victory cups and medals to the first three winners. The deputy commander-in-chief of Abu Dhabi Police also handed a memorial gift to the Abu Dhabi Sailing & Yacht Club in recognition of their cooperation to bring success to this race. He also received a memorial present from General Manager Majid Al Muhairi of the Abu Dhabi Sailing & Yacht Club.
