The Medical Services Section of Al Ain Police Directorate organized an educational medical symposium titled “Facts about cervical cancer". The symposium, held at the Al Ain Naturalization, Residency and Foreigners’ Affairs Directorate, is part of the campaign carried out by the Abu Dhabi Health Authority, under the slogan: " Live Healthy & Simply Check", and was attended by a number of female staff.
Angham Ali Aman, officer from the Health Education Division at the Medical Services Section, indicated that all medical staff attended the workshop with respect to the Abu Dhabi Health Authority’s campaign to educate the public on the risks of cervical cancer. This comes in line with the cooperation between the Directorate and the Health Authority.
She emphasized the need to educate the largest number of women working in the police sector; noting that the Medical Services Section will conduct a series of awareness and health education lectures at the various police departments in the city of Al Ain.
For her part, Dr. Ban Nabhan, gynecologist, gave a detailed explanation about cervical cancer, causes, symptoms, and ways to prevent it. She stressed the need for early screening and detection, as of the age of 18, as well as the need to educate women on the risks of the disease.
