Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, instructs the Decision Support Center of the Abu Dhabi Police to purchase large sets of books from the 23rd Abu Dhabi International Book Fair for the inmates of punitive and correctional establishments in the country.
Brigadier Hamad Adil Al Shamsi, Director General of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments at the Ministry of Interior, said that this initiative will encourage male and female inmates to read books, in order to increase and enrich their knowledge. He also praised the provisioning of the police command towards different aspects in support of punitive and correctional establishments.
In addition, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Salah Obeid Al Ghoul, Director of the Decision Support Center of Abu Dhabi Police, stressed the initiative’s importance as it exemplifies the great interest of His Highness in education and knowledge. Acquiring knowledge has a deep impact on instilling positive behavior and high and noble values among inmates. He also pointed out that the center is coordinating with the Directorate General of Punitive and Correctional Establishments in the Ministry of Interior to identify the cultural and intellectual topics that meet their interests, and takes into consideration their culture, knowledge, and diversity.
