Brigadier Sultan Yusuf Al Nuaimi, Director-General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigner Affairs in Ras Al Khaimah, stressed that the awareness campaign carried out by the Ministry of Interior under the slogan "No To Violators,” aims to enhance the community security and safety, and raise awareness on risks of employing violators of the residency law.
“During the last years, the Ministry of Interior strived to adopt new measures to address violators of the residency law by amending legal procedures and regulations issuing a new package of laws to deal with this matter,” he said.
“These procedures focused on implementing severe penalties on violators and those who employ or shelter them, and implemented financial penalties on sponsors of violators according to Federal Law No. 7 of 2007 regarding the amendment of several articles to Federal Law No. 6 of 1973 addressing the entry and residency of foreigners,” he added.
Al Nuaimi called on the community members to cooperate with the campaign and communicate with the concerned authorities at the Ministry of Interior or the Naturalization Residency and Ports Affairs Department. He urged them to contact 8008080 through the service "Contribute" to report these violators, and actively contribute to the campaign via social media websites, the Ministry of Interior’s website, and the websites of the Residency and Foreigners Affairs General Directorates.
