Police have arrested a three-man gang; all of them are Arabs, red-handed while attempting to sell 2020 tablets of Tramadol (a centrally acting opioid analgesic) to an anti-narcotic officer.
Federal anti-Narcotics Directorate General received a tip off that an Arab person working at gents barber shop in Dubai has been selling Tramadol tablets to some customers, assisted by two other persons from the same nationality.
A team from anti-narcotics departments at the ministry of interior and Dubai police has been formed to handle the case. The plan was to gain the trust of the suspects by selling Tramadol to one of the team members.
They have agreed on the date and place where tablets are to be delivered to the anti-narcotic officer in return for cash money to be paid to the gangsters.
Director General of Federal Anti-narcotics Directorate General, Lt Colonel Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi has lauded the huge efforts and the joint cooperation with the Dubai Police anti-Narcotics General Department and the Security Coordination Section at the Ministry of Interior in rounding up the criminal network.
He called upon parents to educate and protect their children from such substances which are being circulated under different insubstantial descriptions just for gaining money and at the expense of the new generation’s health and safety.
