The Peripheral Areas Police Directorate team beat the Correctional and Punitive Facilities team by 5-0 during the first day of the Ninth Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters Ramadan Seven-a-Side Football Tournament, while the Finance and Services team beat the Western Region Police Directorate by 2-0 and the match between Ports Security team and Security Information team ended as draw: 2-2.
The tournament, which is organized by the Sports Activity Division at the Strategy and Performance Development Department, takes place in the Police Personnel Club’s stadium under the patronage of Deputy Commander in Chief of Abu Dhabi Police. Sixteen football teams representing the Ministry of Interior and the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters participated in the tournament.
Colonel Mohammad Humaid Dalmooj Al Dhahri, Director General of Strategy and Performance Development at the Ministry of Interior stressed that these tournaments help to raise the technical and physical levels of the police force personnel, resulting in a higher task performance. He said that such tournaments also support the internal communication efforts among the Ministry of Interior personnel.
The tournament opening was attended by Major Ibrahim Nasser Al Matroushi, Head of the Shooting Branch at Abu Dhabi Police, a number of officers and individuals, and a crowd of fans.
