According to Lt. Colonel Dr. Hamoud Al Afari, Deputy Director of the Law Respect Culture Bureau, more than 3,000 Ministry of Interior staff members across the police general headquarters in the country benefited from the Police Awareness Program during 2013. The program that was organized by the Law Respect Culture Bureau, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior, focused on inculcating law respect culture in law enforcement members and enhance their legal awareness.

He added: “As part of its duties, the bureau works to build security awareness, while reminding police members of the rules they are required to follow in their line of work. Law respect is an inherent part of any society’s culture. Government and community institutions need to exert concerted efforts to instill the law culture’s values and ethics in society, as a behavior basic and daily practice.”

Lt. Colonel Dr. Hamoud Al Afari added that the Police Awareness Program covered all aspects and features of police work, from federal laws to internal administrative decisions. Law enforcement members are role models for others in terms of respecting and implementing the law in a civilized manner that reflects the positive image of both the legislative branch responsible for enacting the laws and the executive branch responsible for implementing them. ”
