In collaboration with the Medical Services Department of Abu Dhabi Police, the Cultural and Social Activities Section of the Clubs Department organized a health education open day for police staff members and civilians and their families. The event took place at the Abu Dhabi Police Officers’ Club.
Colonel Aref Saif Al Shamesi, Head of Clubs and Sports Activities Department at Abu Dhabi Police, stressed the keenness of the police leadership to increase awareness and health education among its staff members and their families, by providing them with comprehensive and advanced medical care through the Medical Services Department’s various clinics.
He explained that organizing a health education open day aims to raise awareness among Abu Dhabi Police’s staff members about the need to adopt healthy lifestyle practices. He also noted that health education has become one of the most significant aspects of modern public health and a basic tool for disease prevention.
For his part, Captain Yaaqoub Yusuf Al Hammadi, Events Branch Manager at the Clubs Department, said: “The health education open day has attracted a significant turnout of Abu Dhabi Police staff members and their children. As part of the open day’s activities, a team from the Medical Services Department carried out a number of medical tests for participants to measure blood sugar levels, blood pressure, as well as BMI tests to measure height and weight and dental check-ups”.
