Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate has called upon motorist to exercise caution while driving specially during the night hours and in the morning during the formation of fog, to avid accidents caused by decreasing horizontal visibility on the roads.

Director of the Capital’s Traffic Department, Colonel Hamad Mubarak Al Ameri, urged motorists to leave enough safety distance from vehicles moving in front, and avoid overtaking other vehicles, slow down gradually during foggy weather, and continue driving cautiously in a reasonable speed, and use low beam headlights.

They should avoid overtaking and leaving the lane they are driving on, so that no accidents will occur when visibility gets poor. They are also urged to follow weather forecast.

He asked Transport companies carrying laborers to boost traffic education among their drivers, providing them with necessary instructions to be followed during foggy conditions, and requesting them to suspend their trips as horizontal visibility levels become lower.

Trucks drivers should comply with ban timings to enter into Abu Dhabi, and to ensure that the glass wipers and lights of the vehicle are functioning properly.
