Abu Dhabi police deliver traffic awareness lectures to school bus drivers and attendants
300 school bus drivers and attendants availed of traffic awareness lectures organized by the Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police.
The lectures focused on promoting traffic safety and the correct ways school children must follow when they ride and get off school buses, upon approaching their assembly parking, or inside the school campus and residential areas.
The awareness program coincides with the beginning of the new school year and aims at promoting school children safety from run-over accidents and ensuring an accident-free school season, said Lit Colonel Jamal Al Ameri, Head of Public Relations at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate.
Kids have always tended to be among the most vulnerable in traffic accidents, he noted.
Family and school must have a role in instilling and promoting concepts of traffic safety among children by educating them about traffic rules and the correct use of school buses, he indicated.
School also plays an essential role in enhancing traffic culture among school children, Al Ameri emphasized.
