The Ramadan-special Seven-a-side Football tournaments, as part of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police Championship kicked off in Abu Dhabi. The championship is organized by Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police. Representing different departments of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, 16 teams will take part in the tournaments that will be held at the Police Staff Stadium in Abu Dhabi and Officers Club in Mohammed bin Zayed City. The championship will continue until July 15.

In his speech at the opening event, Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, acknowledged the keenness of the ADP leadership to communicate with its staff, develop their talents, and increase social communication during the Holy month of Ramadan. He also wished Allah Almighty to praise this month with prosperity and blessings.

On the first day of the tournaments, four matches were played between the Police Operations team and the Staff Affairs team which resulted in a draw of 1/1; the Staff Affairs team secured the win in a penalty shootout resulting in a score of 2/1.The Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection Department team won against the Traffic and Patrols Directorate team 2/0. The Peripheral Regions Traffic Department team won against the Western Region Police Directorate team 2/1. In the final match, the Al Ain Police team won against the Juveniles Care Center team 5/1.

The opening event was attended by Captain Jamal Al Saadi, National Teams and Competitions Branch Manager, and Lieutenant Sultan Al Farsi, from the Sport Activities Section.
