The Abu Dhabi Police Directorate discussed mutual cooperation in the field of training on occupational safety and health with Cardiff Metropolitan University.
Colonel Thani Buti Al Shamsi, Director of the Training Department in the Abu Dhabi Police General Directorate met the university delegation that included: Professor George Karani, Professor of Environmental Sciences at Cardiff College of Health Sciences, and Professor Peter Sayx, Project Manager at the College in his office.
Colonel Shamsi reasserted that the training department seeks to benefit from the various police training programs around the world to apply international standards in its training programs and stay current with the latest police training activities. He added that the visit from Cardiff University enhances the cooperation in the training field between the Abu Dhabi Police Training Department and Universities in the United Kingdom.
The attendees discussed implementing many training courses regarding occupational safety and health for members of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters by Cardiff Metropolitan University.
They also discussed sending students in Abu Dhabi Police to Cardiff Metropolitan University to finish their Master Degrees in occupational safety and health, accredited by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
