Under the patronage of Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the Emergency and Public Safety Department at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, gears up to launch an educational awareness campaign, under the slogan "My family, My Responsibility”. The campaign, organized in collaboration with the Emirates Nursing Association, will take place at Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi and Al Bawadi Mall in Al Ain on April 14.
Lt. Colonel Mohammed Ibrahim Al Amiri, Director of the Emergency and Public Safety Department at Abu Dhabi Police, indicated that the campaign aims to educate both parents and children on the best means of prevention against domestic accidents, and how to deal with them when they occur.
He added: “The campaign’s program will feature educational exhibitions in a number of malls in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. It will also include field visits to a number of government institutions, universities, colleges, schools and citizens' councils in a number of residential areas in the emirate”.
Al Amiri underscored the important role of parents in providing care, attention and supervision to their children, as well as ensuring safety around the house against accidents that mostly occur as a result of non-compliance to public safety and prevention requirements. “Children are most vulnerable to accidents, because they do not realize the risks that may befall them,” he concluded.
