One person sustained minor injury in a collision that occurred on Tuesday between a private school bus and 5 vehicles on Mohammed bin Khalifa Street in Abu Dhabi Police.
Head of serious accidents investigation branch, Capt. Abdullah Al Suwaidi, noted that the injured was rushed by Abu Dhabi Police ambulance to the Khalifa Medical City to receive treatment.
“Initial investigations revealed that the accident occurred when the bus driver lost control over his vehicle as a result of excessive speeding. No students were in the bus at the time of the accident”, he said.
The bus then climbed onto the platform of a traffic signal, and crashed into five vehicles that were waiting for the signal to turn green.
Al Suwaidi urged motorists to pay attention and slow down when they approach intersections and traffic lights, or when they change their direction, to ensure their safety as well as the safety of other road users, especially during bad whether conditions.
