The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Abu Dhabi carried out this morning, a successful evacuation drill simulating a fire outbreak in a residential building, within the Commodore Labor camp in Al Mafraq industrial city, lot 423. All employees were immediately evacuated and the fire was extinguished.

The evacuation drill in the abovementioned residential city began at 9 a.m. As soon as the report was received, the competent civil defense teams and ambulance crews rushed to the site in record time, and managed to contain the fire in record time as well.

The General Administration of Civil Defense partook in the drill, as well as the Operations Department, the Civil Defense Centre in Al Wathba, Customer Service Centers, the General Department of Police Operations, the Directorate General of Central Operations, the Traffic and Patrols Directorate and the Department of Technical and Security Information at the General Secretariat of the Office of His Highness, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

This drill falls within the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense plan to upgrade the levels of safety in labor camps and facilities, in partnership with various institutions, to provide maximum protection and safety. It also aims to assess the readiness of civil defense departments in dealing with fires and accidents, and to ensure the compliance of various facilities with the necessary required precautions.
