Al Ain Traffic and Patrol Department of the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate recently organized educational traffic villages in three kindergartens in Al Ain. The villages, at the Al Ghadeer, Al Tawya and Al Shuaa kindergartens, are part of the traffic awareness programs which aim to instill traffic culture among children.
First Lieutenant Hamdan Hsasan bin Dheban, Acting Branch Manager, Deputy Director of Public Relations at Al Ain Traffic Department, said: “The educational traffic villages included miniature models of traffic signs and signals which aim to instill respect of traffic laws and regulations in children, to ensure their safety and the safety of others.”
He added: “The events included simplified lectures to expand the children’s minds about the appropriate means to drive on the road, the meaning of traffic signals and symbols, pedestrian lanes and the appropriate way to cross them safely. Children were also trained on the golden rule to ride the school bus, and safe means to get in and out of the bus.”
First Lieutenant Hamdan Hsasan bin Dheban stressed that these activities come in line with the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ strategy to promote traffic education in the various components of society through direct communication with them in every available means and methods to enhance traffic safety for all.
