The Al Ain Traffic and Patrols Section, Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, recently organized an awareness program in Al Refaa School for Girls, Al Hayer. The program comes in line with the “Students’ Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility” campaign, with the aim of providing traffic safety for students during the new academic year.
Colonel Hamad Nasser Al Bloushi, Head of Peripheral Regions Traffic Department at Abu Dhabi Police, indicated that such awareness-raising programs will be organized continuously through daily activities at the various schools with a view to acquaint students with the golden rule of using school buses.
“The awareness program was presented by officers from the section, in coordination with the Traffic Control Unit at the Traffic Control Branch, in order to enhance communication with the school’s female students. It also aims at spreading a strong, conscious traffic and social culture about security and safety requirements on the road. The officers called on students to maintain their safety through different traffic-related messages, as part of the ‘Students’ Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility’ campaign,” he added.
Concluding, he noted that the awareness initiatives are in pursuance of the of Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s strategy to reduce traffic accidents, and achieve road safety for all road users.
