The Rescue Team Departs for Jordan Tomorrow to Participate in the Handling Disasters Drill
The Search and Rescue Team leaves the country on Monday morning to visit the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to participate in the “Handling Disasters” drill, which lasts until next Wednesday.
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Abdul Jalil Al Ansari, Head of the UAE Search and Rescue Team, said that the aim behind such a drill is to enhance the team’s cooperation and measure its abilities in addition to identifying the weaknesses and strengths in order to improve its responsiveness to disasters.
The Search and Rescue Team comprises of a number of trained and qualified members who are highly equipped. The team’s participation is in line with the mutual collaboration and cooperation efforts between the UAE and Jordan teams. It represents the five-year strategy of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters that gives priority to training and empowering all members as it focuses on issues related to security, safety, and trust of society.
The Search and Rescue Team in the UAE has become internationally recognized with respect to its qualifications, development, performance and achievements; it is considered a role model in the field of search and rescue.
