His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi ordered for a medical aircraft to transport seven wounded citizens to Abu Dhabi from Oman to complete their treatment. The seven UAE nationals were wounded in a traffic accident that occurred in Oman; the medical aircraft carried an officer from the Ministry of Interior and a medical staff from the Health Authority.

The Ministry of Interior announced in a statement that the crash occurred on Saturday between two vehicles in the State of Maqshan in Oman, causing the injury of seven Emiratis; among them four suffered from significant injuries. The statement also revealed that they  they were transported to the Sultan Qaboos hospital in Salala.

The Ministry of Interior has urged all GCC travelers to pay attention while driving to avoid road collisions.

Brigadier General Gaith Hasan Al Zaabi, Director General, Traffic Coordination Department of the Ministry of Interior reiterated the importance that all drivers respect the different traffic environments outside the United Arab Emirates; drivers must be aware of the nature of the roads and its traffic systems. He also affirmed the existence of permanent and positive communication and cooperation with the Omani traffic authority in order to be introduced the causes of such accidents and work in collaboration to reduce occurrences.
