A total of 33 members graduated on Thursday, after completing two specialized courses at the Ports Security Institute of the Ports and Airports Security Department, on: “Time and Pressure Management” and “detection and security inspection using computer based training, (CBT)”.
Colonel Abdullah Saeed bin Hattab Al Dhaheri, Director of Ports Security Institute, stated that the courses, which spanned over 5 days, included a number of theoretical lectures and practical applications. He also emphasized the importance of scientific knowledge and practical exercises to refine skills and acquaint personnel with the latest techniques used in police work.
Al Dhaheri added that participants in the “Time and Pressure Management” course attended lectures on means to identify the nature of time, factors of wasting it, as well as means to plan time to take advantage of every minute; identifying personal characters and their impact on dealing with stress and how to overcome them.
Participants in the “Detection and Inspection using computer based simulation (CBT)” course were given an overview on suitcases inspection and procedures used at checkpoints and other relevant topics.
At the end of the ceremony, Brigadier Al Zahiri, presented certificates to the graduates, wishing them success and luck in their careers, in the presence of Lieutenant Colonel Naima Salem Awad, Director of the Training Department at the Institute and a number of officers.
