The Police Sports Association at the Ministry of Interior has discussed the ongoing preparations to host the 20th athletics championship, to be organized by the Association at Dubai’s Police Officers Club during the period from the sixth to the eighth of next month.
The meeting, headed by Lt Colonel Aref Ali Obeid Al Rais, head of sports activities in the Association reviewed the organizational procedures for the championship with the representatives of the participating teams.
The delegates were also briefed on the tournament’s technical regulations, schedule and start dates of the competitions, the deadline for players’ registration and their numbers.
Seven teams representing the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police, Dubai Police, Fujairah Police, the General Command of Civil Defense, and Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residence, and ports, the Command of the Special Security Forces and Police Federal School will take part in the event.
The tournament includes several competitions, such as the triple jump, shot put, running races for 800 meters , 5000 meters, 100, 200, 400 and 800 meters, the relay race, the discus throw, long jump and javelin throw.
