The Ministry of Interior participated in the National Sports Day Run organized under the slogan ‘UAE Unites Us’ by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council within the framework of the National Sports Day events. Over 4,000 personnel from the Ministry of Interior participated in the run that was held at the Abu Dhabi Breakwater.
Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Police Sports Association, explained that over 4,000 female and male personnel of the Ministry of Interior participated in the National Sports Day Run as part of the National Sports Day Initiative.
He then added that the National Sports Day has been held for the first time in order to enhance communication amongst various segments of the community and consolidate the concepts of love, leadership, loyalty and patriotism to the benevolent United Arab Emirates. Describing sports as the best language to communicate through, he said: “The Police Sports Association is keen to participate in a number of sporting events for the employees of the Ministry of Interior nationwide, and this will be done in coordination and cooperation with the police commands throughout the UAE.”
Colonel Al Dhaheri stressed over the keenness of the Ministry of Interior to participate in National Sports Day, as per the directives of the police command that coincide with the importance they place on police sports. Additionally, the Sports Day falls in line with the Ministry’s strategy to disseminate sporting activities and promote athletics amongst its staff. Colonel Al Dhaheri noted how sporting activities benefit and significantly impact the health of the policemen, how they develop their physical, psychological, and cognitive abilities, and how sports enable them to perform their duties to the fullest.
