The Ministry of Interior discussed ongoing preparations to celebrate Traffic Week nationwide. The event begins on March 10th across GCC countries, and carries the slogan “Our Goal is Your Safety.”
During its meeting at the Traffic Coordination General Department, chaired by Brigadier General Gaith Hasan Al Zaabi, Director General, Traffic Coordination Department, Ministry of Interior, the committee for Traffic Week 2013 discussed preparations, collaboration with entities interested in traffic safety, and communication with media institutions in order to educate all societal categories on the week’s objectives and activities.
Brigadier General Gaith Al Zaabi, Chairman of the committee, stressed the importance of working to achieve the strategic goals for traffic safety and highlight the objective of the week’s slogan. “On this occasion, we will distribute educational booklets, brochures, and gifts. We will also organize lectures to educate school children,” he said.
Officers from different police GHQs across the country, personnel from the Traffic Coordination General Department, and representatives from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) were present at the meeting.
