The Security Inspection Department (K9) at the Abu Dhabi Police organized a number of demonstrations performed by sniffer dogs on the first day of the International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition 2012, in the presence of a large number of visitors.
The demonstrations included obedience, breakthroughs, and attacks performed by dogs. The search and rescue teams of the Security Inspection Department also organized demonstrations on security tasks, how to deal with disasters, and the role of dogs in searching for victims.
Colonel Jamal Habash, Head of the Department said that the participation of the Abu Dhabi Police in the event was a reflection of its active plan to support strong ties with the public, and brief them on the security and humanitarian missions of the department. Additionally, the department aims to spread awareness to the public about its participation in all other fields that are related to the lives of individuals and providing them with the means of safety and security.
He noted that sniffer dogs will continue their live demonstrations twice a day in the coming days, and the staff at the department will be distributing handbooks and brochures about the department’s missions, in addition to distributing specialized magazines issued by the UAE Dog Keepers Association on how to care for dogs.
