The Security Committee of the International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (IHEE) discussed preparations for the exhibition’s current edition, which will kick off on the September 15th. The committee addressed security and weapons licensing and public safety measures.
Colonel Hameed Al Afreet, Director of Weapons and Explosives Department at the General Department for Security and Ports at the Abu Dhabi Police, said: “A coordinative meeting will be held to discuss all preparations for the exhibition, which receives great international interest.” He stressed on the police’s commitment to provide all facilities to participants and visitors of the exhibition by organizing the process of buying and selling weapons, following up with weapon companies, securing the safety of participants and visitors, and providing security and safety offices to communicate with visitors, participants, and buyers.
He stressed on the security committee’s keenness to announce the terms and procedures to licenses and the purchase of hunting weapons. He said that these terms and procedures will be set according to a well-advised scheme that guarantees ease and quick processing. He also highlighted the importance of giving attention to the educational aspect of possessing a weapon.
