Fire broke out at 3 warehouses in Musaffah
Three warehouses in the Al Musaffah Industrial Area 9 in Abu Dhabi caught fire on Friday afternoon. No casualties have been reported.
According to Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Al Nuaimi, acting general director of Abu Dhabi civil defence, there was quick intervention and civil defence teams were rushed to the scene after the operations room received a tip-off about the fire at around 3pm.
According to him, investigations are still on to determine the cause of the fire. Al Nuaimi added that the teams took 90 minutes to extinguish the fire.
The fire, he explained, had broken out in three warehouses that stored electrical and medical equipment, which belonged to one company.
Lt Colonel Hamad Al Riyami, from Abu Dhabi civil defence supervised the accident. A helicopter form Air Wing Department using thermal imaging technique has filmed the accident.
A number of units have participated including traffic and police vehicles, crime scene, security media and water tankers of Abu Dhabi Municipality.
