The Community Police Department organized an introductory course to develop the skills of its retired members’ children, during the summer vacation. The course, a first of its kind at Abu Dhabi Police, was organized by the Retired Affairs Branch at the Department.
First Lieutenant, Shaikha Humaid Al Zaabi, from the Retired Affairs Branch stated that the Department organizes an annual community program for the retired personnel’s children, to help them spend their leisure time usefully during the summer vacation. She pointed out that the program provided participants with information regarding the nature of police work in general, as well as the tasks and duties of the Community Police in enhancing communication with community members, in order to preserve their security and safety.
She added that a course titled “skills of preparation, presentation and delivery” was held at the Community Police Institute, during the period from 16 to 18 July.
The course acquainted participants with the role and functions of the Community Police, its concept, and its impact on society through communication with the public; inspiring the spirit of safety and security, as well as contributing to prevent crime and anticipate events before they take place.
