Community Police Affairs Department of the Western region partakes in the Tradition Forum of Al Ratab Liwa Festival, 2012; in collaboration with Public Relations Department of the Western Region Police (Al Gharbia).
Captain Maktoum Al Mazrouei, Western Region Community Police Affairs General Director, stated that the participation of Community Police in this great heritage festival is part of the events it shares with community members, and an embodiment of the spirit of cooperation and cohesion between the public and the police, to preserve the security and stability of society.
He added: “The Department collaborates with the Public Relations Department of Western Region Police, to raise awareness among the visitors of the Festival, which runs from July 12 to 18, and shed the light on the various types of the UAE’s renowned dates.”
Al Mazrouei also explained that during the Festival, visitors are educated and acquainted with the concepts of Community Police and its objectives, as well as the ways of dealing with community members, through awareness brochures, containing a number of tips and guidance on how to maintain public and private property. He added that there are several foot-police patrols inside and outside the festival’s venue; to maintain the security of visitors and guiding them to the various sections.
