The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ Traffic and Patrols Directorate announced that the Al Khaleej Al Arabi road (Arabian Gulf Road) will be closed to traffic in both directions for two hours, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Sunday.  This coincides with the opening of the 11th edition of the International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2013), scheduled to be held from 17 - 21 February at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

Lt. Colonel Jamal Salem Al Amri, Chief of Public Relations Section in the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, emphasized the readiness of Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and patrols Directorate to ensure a smooth traffic flow during IDEX 2013. He pointed out that alternate roads have been designated on Abu Dhabi Island, namely; Sheikh Zayed Road; Sheikh Rashed Road; and Al Muroor road.

Al Amri called on motorists to comply with traffic rules and guidelines, to be cautious while driving, to keep roads safe and accidents free, due to traffic jams that may occur, particularly in areas close to the IDEX opening day parade routes. He also appealed to them not to stop their vehicles randomly, to avoid causing traffic obstruction.
