A number of Armed Forces and police members offered flowers to the large numbers of the national football team (Al Abyad) fans returning from Bahrain, through the various ports in the State. This gesture aims to celebrate the national team’s triumph in the 21st edition of the Gulf Cup of Nations.
A total number of 18.385 fans returned home; 11.255 of whom returned via the various UAE airports, and 7.130 via the Ghuwaifat port.
The Ministry of Interior had published a number of awareness messages through the various online social networking sites, radios and televisions, extending its heartfelt congratulations to the UAE people on the triumph achieved by their national team in the 21st edition of the Gulf Cup of Nations. It called on motorists to observe the Traffic laws, to ensure their safe return back to the homeland.
The National team’s fans expressed their joy with this significant triumph, praising the flowers’ gesture, to reflect this historic national achievement.
