The Al Ain Civil Defense teams extinguished a fire that broke out at dawn today in 43 caravans resulting in three minor injuries. The caravans were used for housing workers in the Al Nabbagh area in Al Ain.
According to Lt. Colonel Rashid Hamar Ain Al Darmaki, Head of the Al Ain Civil Defense Department, they received a communication from the operations room after midnight reporting a fire in a number of caravans- a total of 43 caravans divided into 81 rooms as well as a large bus for workers- in the Al Nabbagh area.
He added: “The civil defense teams immediately began their duties to extinguish the fire and took control of it in a record time of less than six minutes. The evidence was transferred to the criminal laboratory and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances of the incident.
Lt. Colonel Al Darmaki reiterated the importance of taking precautionary measures to ensure public safety in residential caravans; he also stressed the need to pay attention to devices that can cause fires such as gas pipes, electrical connections, cigarette butts, and any heat source that can cause the ignition of flammable materials.
