Colonel Ateeq Ibraheem Al Daheri, Deputy-Director of the Al-Wathba Punishment and Correctional Institution in the Abu Dhabi Police witnessed the second batch’s graduation from the specialized training courses. These training courses fall under the initiative of specialized training to better manage arrestees and inmates. The training was organized by the Institute of Specialized Training of the Punishment and Correctional Institutions.
Colonel Al Daheri pointed out that the Punishment and Correctional Institution Department launched this initiative in the context of supporting and activating the strategic priorities, especially those related to the best use of human resources.
The number of beneficiaries of the course was 40, comprising officers, non-commissioned officers and personnel. They received intensive theoretical and practical training over a period of four weeks focusing on the main requirements for working at correctional institutions, the varied responsibilities of dealing with inmates and institution security.
The training course combined both theoretical and practical topics in order to help personnel to properly deal with inmates of different cultural backgrounds.
At the end of the ceremony, Colonel Al Daheri distributed certificates to participants and wished them luck and success.
