Abu Dhabi Police women team won six gold, silver and bronze medals. The team acquired the first place on teams’ level for the third year in a row in the UAE Open Taekwondo Championship “Women 2012.” The Championship was organized by the UAE Taekwondo and Karate Association. Al Ain Club came in the second place and Ajman came third.
The Championship’s finals were attended by representatives of UAE Taekwondo and Karate Union and representatives of Al Ain Sports Club. The finals, in which 5 government and private clubs participated, were held in Al Qattara Hall in Al Ain Sports Club. There were a total of 60 players of different weights from UAE and different Arab and foreign nationalities.
The participation of Abu Dhabi Police women team in this championship comes under the police academy’s plan to prepare and rehabilitate female staff in the field of special training (All in one trainer). It is a chance for the team to represent Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarter in martial arts championships and contests, and the team’s performance will be evaluated in a real competitive atmosphere.
